Summary: Ueda's life has always been full of hair-dye, glitter and Kame's smiles.

I was both SUPER EXCITED and OMG NERVOUS when signing up for this exchange, but it was so much fun and ended up being worthwhile for several reasons which I will now bore you with because I am a rambler. :3

First off, working with Beth was a breeze. An awesome, refreshing, inspiring summer breeze kind of breeze. ♥ I mean, not that I expected collaborating with her would be difficult because Owlet is Owlet after all as well as a pushover :B but I'm still slightly surprised by how smoothly it all went. The only obstacles were our mutual procrastination and tendency to get distracted by Youtube vids in the name of ~research~ I was derailed for hours when watching chibi KameDa vids and the YnU PV. The surprise colour we received was orange and after going :S for a while, we came up with orange -> Uepi's hair -> KameDa. #brilliantminds #ingenious

Me: lol vixen - I, I mean NO. NO PORN.
Beth: BUT IT'S EASIER. AND POOR UEDA
Me: KAME IS A TEASE. KEEP HIM IN CHARACTER

On that note, dear flist, I confess that I was extremely amused seeing all your 'Will Sara write porn?' discussions. You guys are the worst detectives ever. XDD ♥ I'm a PG-13 writer with a RPF-smut-squick, y'all. #willneverporn #prudeclub XD

And that brings me to the next point: hdjalskjdlkasjd TEAM TURTLE ADDICTS WERE semi-SUCCESSFUL anons NINJAS!! :D :D #naruto We even managed to dupe Joo, which is pretty awesome considering she's familiar with both our writing styles (one day I will stop teasing you about this, Joo, but today is not that day ♥ #hinata). To be completely honest, Beth and I were thinking we'd be entirely too obvious, like blond-headed, orange clad ninjas lol. But we had a lot of you confused which, to me, is incredibly flattering.

If any of you have read our individual fics, you'll know that Beth and I have vastly different writing styles. To put it simply, I get wordy and use events to move the plot along whereas Beth uses dialogue has a more succinct grasp on her wording which I love and admire. And this was where the anxious excitement came in. On the one hand, the challenge this fic exchange revolves around is melding pieces from two writers into one, seamless and unified product. The fic should read as if it was written by one person, not two, which is difficult for people with unique styles. On the other hand, it's thrilling to challenge a new style, particularly one I'm fond of and YAY I GET TO WRITE WITH BETH. :D

Other than the ~fun timez~ with Beth, this fic exchange was worthwhile because I, for one, am super proud of our final product. I admit, I whined A LOT while writing it: I hate KameDa - why are they so hard to write omg?! ;o; This is the definition of suckiness. WHY DID WE DECIDE ON KAMEDA AGAIN?? I just spent two hours writing a 100 word scene. I'm a failure. T__T *coughs* BUT now that the struggle is all over, I gotta say: I LOVE OUR FIC SO MUCH DJKJSAKLDJLSKA *________* ♥ /yes I am flailing over my own fic /dodges bricks. When I read it now, I feel so accomplished because to me, it does read like one person wrote it. I tried so hard to match my writing to Beth's style except when I gave up somewhere near the end; you can pratically see me peeking through the sentences lol >.> and it looks like it worked because I know a couple flisters were thrown off the trail. I feel like I've overcome the challenge and my competitive streak is satisfied. :')

And even though it took me 4hrs to churn out a 200 word scene, I feel like my rusty writing skills have improved somehow. I've read the comments the fic received and ugh (in the best way fjlksjfd). *______* But, as much as they are touching and made me squee in pleasure, I have to say that my writing was only this good because I was trying to emulate a certain someone. ♥ #superowlet

And since I beat that certain someone in the word count category, I shall be receiving a 2K fic from her~ :B

To conclude my ramble, this exchange gave me: happy memories with a dear friend ♥, room to experiment with my own writing, certified ninja status and bragging rights :B, material to tease Joo with :D, the assurance that my writing isn't all too bad, a fondness for all things orange, a promise of a 2K fic and...

And YESYESYESYES! I have finally tackled the ultra mabushii pairing that is ~KameDa~ *throws confetti* :D :D :D So I've done Kame/Kame, AKame, KoKame, KameDa and NaKame. Now only one pairing remains before I complete the Kame/KT set... >)
